Teeth that have missing structure caused by decay (cavities), fractures, or cracks need to have that missing structure replaced. Smaller parts of a tooth can often be restored using a composite tooth coloured filling. Composite restorations are suitable for all areas of the mouth. They enhance the contour, shape and colour of the tooth. Composite restorations are so well integrated with the surrounding tooth you will have difficulty telling the difference between your natural tooth and the newly placed composite filling!
Besides restoring missing tooth structure, composite filling material can also be used to close gaps between teeth and smooth chipped teeth. This is called esthetic bonding. If you have gaps between your teeth that you would like repaired ask us about it!
