Vaping and its effects on General & Oral Health
Vaping has an undeniable negative impact on oral health. The Canadian Dental Association (CDA) strongly advises against the use of tobacco and cannabis products through both smoking and vaping. Although vaping has been considered safer than smoking, there are still significant risks involved, which can sometimes result in severe respiratory disease or even death. Vaping also increases your risk of decay and gum disease. Current evidence shows that vaping may increase the risk of heart damage and stroke similar to cigarette smoking. Furthermore, it can act as a gateway to smoking for preteens and may cause dependence. The more we learn about e-cigarettes, the more dangerous they look!

Overall, vaping is not a safe alternative to smoking. Emphasis must be placed on the healthiest option, which is to live completely tobacco and nicotine free. With a new year and new decade upon us, there is no better time to choose to improve your oral health.
