Meet the newest addition to our team, Dr. Jessica Reimer! Jessica is originally from Kelowna and has recently returned to her home town from Whitehorse, Yukon. She is excited to join the team at Okanagan Dentistry and call the Okanagan her home again!
What led you into a career in dentistry?
I became interested in dentistry after volunteering at the Kelowna Gospel Mission Dental Clinic, which provides dental services to low-income families, those on income assistance or disability and the homeless.
Favorite food?
Oooh this is tough! My favourite 'dish' of all time is the Veggie Curry Rice Bowl from Mad Mango on Bernard Street.
What makes your favourite patient your favourite?
My ultimate favourite patient was a pastry chef. She would bring me the most amazing fresh cinnamon rolls before her appointments (still warm)!
What is your favorite childhood memory?
The lake. My siblings and I lived for beach dates at Gyro (thanks to my mom who organized the outing and packing amazing picnics!).
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I have 2 adorable fur babies (guinea pigs), Sharon & Cathy, my Masters thesis was focused on wine microbiology in the Okanagan, and I provided dental care inside Cambodian prisons for 4 weeks.

3 items you would want on a deserted island.
Toothpaste, antibiotics and fresh water!
Favorite book
The Hot Zone - by Richard Preston. It's about the origins of the Ebola virus and a fictional outbreak in North America.
What is your favourite activity to do in the Okanagan?
I love nothing more than hiking Knox Mountain.
What has been the most memorable day at Okanagan Dentistry for you?
Everyday has been new, challenging, fun and memorable. I am so lucky to be part of such a great team and to meet such amazing patients each day.
