2025 Fall Newsletter

Halloween is a time for spooky fun and sweet treats, but it doesn’t have to be scary for your teeth! The best candy choices are those that clear from the mouth quickly, like chocolate, while sticky or hard candies can cling to teeth and increase cavity risk. Encourage kids (and adults!) to enjoy their treats in moderation, ideally with meals when saliva flow is higher, and to rinse or brush soon after. With a little planning, you can enjoy the season’s sweets while keeping your smile healthy!

Keeping Your Smile Healthy During Orthodontic Treatment with Advanced Air Polishing

During orthodontic treatment, maintaining excellent oral hygiene is especially important since braces and aligners can trap food and plaque, increasing the risk of cavities, gum inflammation, and staining. That’s why we recommend increasing hygiene appointment frequency to every four months to help keep teeth and gums in optimal health throughout your time in braces. At our office, we use advanced air polishing technology, which is gentler and more effective than traditional polishing. Air polishing removes plaque and biofilm even in hard-to-reach areas around brackets and wires, leaving teeth cleaner, smoother, and healthier—helping our patients achieve the best results from their orthodontic care.
