 Congratulations Olivia & Welcome Karissa

You may have noticed lately that our wonderful dental hygienist Olivia is off on maternity leave. We wish her and her husband a huge congratulations on the safe and healthy arrival of their first-born Henry!  Although Olivia will be back next year, we were lucky to find a great hygienist to care for her patients in the meantime! Karissa moved to Kelowna after practising in Vancouver for several years. She is a seasoned world traveler, having spent time working as a dental hygienist in New Zealand and traveling to many other places as well. Ask her about her adventures at your next appointment!

The Benefits of our Airflow System

Last month we added another EMS Airflow unit to our office due to the demand we have had for this amazing unit. The Airflow system uses a blast of warm water and erythritol, a natural compound that fights bacteria, to remove the “biofilm” that forms on our teeth between hygiene appointments. It works in a similar way to our ultrasonic scalers, but it has the added benefit of being much more comfortable for our patients since there is no physical contact of an instrument to the tooth. The patients that have had it are loving it so far, and nothing works as well around a dental implant! Ask about the Airflow unit next time you come for your hygiene appointment.

Remembering Dr. Malcolm Leitch

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Malcolm (Mac) Leitch, father of Dr. Ian Leitch and our hygienist Melanie Grant.  We are thankful to have been left such a powerful legacy of pursuing excellence in improving lives through dentistry.  This began with Dr. Mac Leitch in 1955 when he started his dental career as one of only a handful of dentists in Kelowna.  We wish our sincerest condolences to the Leitch family and will strive daily to uphold the amazing legacy that the Leitch family has in the Kelowna dental community.

Welcome Seana!

Our new receptionist Seana was born and raised in the Fraser Valley, BC where she and her husband raised two beautiful daughters. One of her daughters is in the dental profession as well, with a career as a Certified Dental Assistant! Having recently moved in 2019 to the Okanagan, Seana is loving everything it has to offer including skiing, swimming, and hiking.  When she is not at the office, you can find her spending time with friends and family (and her two dogs), taking some amazing photography, reading, and learning about wine. Although she loves living in wine country, she is also very excited to travel to other countries known for their incredible wine when travel is again possible! Seana is passionate about meeting new people and making genuine connections with our patients.   You cannot miss her beautiful smile and personality when you enter the office!
