Important information for everyone with extended medical and dental insurance:
There is some important legislation that will affect every person with extended health benefits. If we do not act now there will be many people affected by this long term.
The federal government is considering the idea of taxing any claims on your extended medical and dental plans. This affects any optometry, physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, prescription medication coverage, as well as dental treatment and other related coverage that you may have currently. This will not only decrease access to care in all areas not covered by MSP but it will also result in fewer people being covered by extended health plans as many smaller businesses will not be able to afford to maintain coverage for their employees.
